2015 Fourth Quarter

December 2015

In late October UpSwing began implementation of GOING PRO—Professional & Proactive Customer Connections, a training initiative designed, developed, and facilitated by UpSwing for Ameren Missouri. The state-wide initiative, scheduled to run into first quarter 2016, focuses on Ameren Missouri field operation employees’ customer interaction skills. The communication-centered training emphasizes key skills such as: improving listening ability, non-verbal communication cues; and conflict resolution methods.

We began the development phase of an additional GOING PRO initiative tailored toward Ameren’s Illinois field operations employees as well, with training workshops slated to begin in January of 2016.

This quarter, UpSwing celebrated the completion of another successful year of THE BOOK SERIES, our ongoing monthly leadership development series for Nestlé-Purina PetCare.  This development opportunity is centered on influential business authors and their works. Among the books explored in this year’s series were: Essentialism by Greg McKeown; Warren Berger’s A More Beautiful Question; and Leaders Eat Last: Why Some Teams Pull Together and Others Don’t by Simon Sinek.

UpSwing launched design and development of a four-hour workshop for The Laclede Group entitled: Essential Skills for Working Foremen.  This training program will be for union-represented supervisors, supervising union-represented employees.  Our team began its customized workshop development for this unique group through a variety of consultative methods.  Our process of customer familiarization includes investigational interviews, ride-alongs, meetings, and conference calls with the targeted client group to ensure pertinent, job-specific course material. This training is to take place during the first quarter of 2016.

During the month of October, CEO Stephanie Dollschnieder gave Keynote Presentations for financial services leader, Raymond James. “Cultivating Influence,” an empowering 90-minute presentation delivered by Ms. Dollschnieder was featured as the Keynote Presentation at an Operations Manager Conference. She explored with the audience: the six basic elements that comprise influence; revealed how factors in the financial services realm pose challenges to influencing the decisions of others; and demonstrated effective tools for how to overcome these challenges.

Later in the month, Ms. Dollschnieder engaged Raymond James Branch Professionals in her tailored presentation entitled “Effectively Managing Your Most Valuable Resource” in which she led the audience through an interesting look at why the most valuable resource that any professional has is him or herself, and why we should unabashedly place ourselves as our highest business priority.

This quarter also marked the debut of two UpSwing vidoes which are featured on our UpSwing website and Facebook pages.  Tina Carroll, Senior Trainer/Facilitator is featured in the video, “The 6 A's to Remarkable Recovery,” .   Ms. Carroll guides us through the six most important steps to rectify a problem or correct a mistake with a customer.

Vice President of Operations, Mandy Meininger’s Welcome Video featured on UpSwing’s website provides a quick look at how we get learning right.

To wrap up the quarter, UpSwing welcomed Lea Stojeba as their Sales and Digital Marketing Manager. Ms. Stojeba brings years of corporate experience combined with a traditional and digital marketing background to the Company. We are pleased to welcome her to UpSwing Team!
